Trudie Van Horn, MA, LMHP, NCC
Are you feeling overwhelmed or stuck? Do old wounds and patterns weigh you down? Not sure which way to turn, yet desperately wanting something different?
Although I have trained in effective and evidence-based modalities, my lived experience is what helps me relate to what you’re going through. I’m a wife, as well as a mom of four adult kids who are also starting their families.
Professionally, I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, and school-based therapy services. I will forever be grateful to my amazing clients who have allowed me to grow alongside them.
It’s important to me to continually invest in ways to best help my clients. As a nationally certified counselor (NCC), I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
I provide trauma-informed care with the goal of processing difficult events and memories as gently as possible to give you lasting freedom and purpose. It’s energizing to tailor a client’s sessions specifically for them. In the midst of all of it, we might even find some moments of laughter.
The fulfillment I get from walking beside someone as they process their pain and construct new meaning from it lets me know I’m in the right place. Although empathizing with my clients comes naturally, I also like to use a solution-focused approach. There’s no future in staying stuck.
I count it an honor and a privilege to join my clients on their healing journey.
