Tami Smith, Counseling Intern
Hello! I am a Counseling Intern working toward licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of Nebraska at Omaha under the supervision of Kris Steinbeck, MS, LIMHP, NCC
Before beginning my counseling internship, I worked as both a school counselor and currently as a Life Coach. As a life coach I hold certificates from the CACLC, CLC, and a certification in brain health. These roles have given me the opportunity to walk alongside children, teens, and adults during times of growth, transition, and challenge.
I provide therapy for clients of all ages and use a trauma-informed, collaborative approach. My practice draws from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also bring creativity into sessions, using art, writing, and other expressive tools to help clients and adolescents in the healing and growth process.
